Well, I am very proud of myself. Sorry to be so blunt, but I'm f*cking awesome today! Haha. I came home from a video game filled night with a few friends, did ALL of the house work, & even squeezed in a couple hours of practice with my Baritone Saxophone :) I have this event coming up, called the ISSMA contest. Now in case any of you don't know what "ISSMA" is, it stands for Indiana State School Music Association. Haha, that's a mouth full! Well, for the past couple weeks, I've been working on my very first solo! This is my second year in Jazz Band, & I'm in the advanced class, so it's a lot of hard work! I've been in concert band for...4 years now, (yes, I take two band classes) & that also is a lot of work. A total of 6 years playing the Bariton Sax, & I'm looked upon by my teachers as one of their "Best Students." Haha, so disappointment really isn't an option for me, here. I'm trying to work as hard as I can, because my school had won a gold rating for about...40-something consecutive years! Now, could you imagine being the one to cause the school to get a silver? </3 I would not be happy with myself, & my teachers would definitely not be happy with me! In case you haven't realized it by now, this contest is extremely important to me, & I would give anything to win this gold rating! Well, now that I'm done rambling about all that, the reason I'm saying all this, is because I've finally perfected my solo! <3 It's quite long, & the tune itself it very, very complicated! It took me a while to write in all the sharp notes, & flat notes that I was missing, but in the end, it was well worth it. I'm so proud of myself, I can't even explain! I think I deserve a treat ;) Haha! Where in the Hell is my boyfriend when you need to pop open a bottle of champagne, & relax a bit!? Lol, only playing. He's on his way to his parents house about 4 hours away from where I am, so I won't see him until tomorrow, but it's worth the wait. He just told me that he ordered my Valentine's Day gift! :o Haha, I'm dying to know what it is, but patience is a virtue, right? Little does he know that I'm planning on getting him some Giorgio Armani, Acqua Di Gio cologne! Haha, he's been obsessing over it for a while, & I'm sure that he'll love it. I'm also going to make him a home made V-Day card, because what's better, than something that comes from the heart? <3 Well...That, & a $50 bottle of cologne! Hahaha (: Well, I'm going to go spend some time with my Best Friend! ...& Shower...I smell! >:O
-Feel free to comment-
I wish you all a very happy Saturday! <3 xoxo
